These acts can cause the victim emotional distress, depression, and anxiety. In severe cases, it can lead to suicide. Now, let's look at the data. According to a survey conducted by Pew Research Center, about 59% of US teens have experienced cyberbullying in at least one form. The cases of cyberbullying are getting worse due to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which provide an easy avenue for bullies to target their victims.
