Halloween originated from the ancient Celtic holiday of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. The Celts believed that on October 31 the spirits returned to Earth. With the spread of Christianity, it was combined with All Saints' Day and transformed into the modern holiday. To protect themselves from evil spirits, people lit bonfires and disguised themselves with masks so as not to be recognized. This celebration originated mainly in the United States and there are other people who do not celebrate it because of their religion. It is also usually celebrated in other countries. The celebration is about dressing up as your favorite character and going to houses to ask for sweets. The houses are usually decorated in terror with pumpkins. It is a very scary celebration and there are also people who do not celebrate it for fear of monsters.(trick-or-treat in English) is a Halloween activity in which children go around the houses in their neighborhood dressed up, asking for candy with the phrase trick or treat?, treat or mischiefThe phrase arose because the Irish believed that an evil being went from house to house during this night asking for trick or treat. If the deal was not closed, the belief was that the spirit would perform a trick to curse the inhabitants of that home
