Lets start with the history, Belize's history is marked by the development of the Mayan civilization.  In the 18th century the country was colonized by the English people and Its independence was only achieved in 1981. Belize is still part of the British Commonwealth ( independent countries that were formerly under the British rule). Now the culture: Belize is a  Catholic country and its culture is a mixture of influences of: Creole, Mayan, East Indian, Garinagu, Mestizo, Mennonite and German cultures.Some of Belize's typical foods are: Rice and Beans, Fry Jacks, Ceviche and Tamales. The geography of belize: Belize is in the central America. The north of Belize consists on marshy coastal plains, in some places forested. To the south is the small mountain range of the Maya Mountains, whose highest point in the territory is 1124 m above sea level. Last but not least the current population of Belize is 405,272. It is equivalent to 0.01% of the total world population.
