Imdadul Ulum Senior Madrasah: A Key Institution in Rural West BengalEstablished in 1957, Imdadul Ulum Senior Madrasah in Kaliaganj Block-1, Maldah district, is managed by the Madarsa Board and recognized by the Wakf Board. It offers education from Grades 1 to 12, with a pre-primary section. The school follows a co-educational system and conducts classes in Bengali. Its academic year starts in April.The school operates from a government building with 15 classrooms, two additional rooms for non-teaching activities, and a dedicated room for the Headmaster. Despite the absence of a boundary wall and playground, the school is equipped with electricity, functional hand pumps for drinking water, and separate toilets for boys and girls. The school also runs a library with 796 books and 10 functional computers, although it lacks a computer-aided learning lab.A key feature is the provision of mid-day meals, contributing to student welfare. The Madrasah is easily accessible by all-weather roads, making it convenient for students.Imdadul Ulum holds deep personal significance for me, as I completed both my tenth-grade Madhyamik Alim and twelfth-grade Fazil here. This institution played a crucial role in shaping my educational and personal growth, leaving a lasting impact on my life.Despite its challenges, Imdadul Ulum remains a cornerstone of education in the region, providing essential resources and nurturing a generation of students in rural West Bengal.
